Pastor Andy Busa
Andy is the lead visionary pastor of Living Word Ministries (LWM). He joined LWM in May 2013 when Gospel International Ministries which he helped started in 2010, merged with LWM.
After 22 years of doing pastoral ministry in the Philippines, Andy, together with his family, moved to Canada in 2006 to serve as a missionary with International Teams Canada’s urban ministry in Hamilton that facilitates TrueCity, a movement of churches that work together for the good of the city. As a missionary, he has specifically worked with newcomers and refugees and connected with different churches in Hamilton. Prior to moving to Canada, Andy led a team of Filipino missionaries before the end of 2004, and for six months, they explored ministries amongst newcomers and refugees in Hamilton and Toronto. He was also one of the people who has been instrumental in the birth of Micah House, a ministry towards refugee claimants in Hamilton, where he was a previous board member and at one time served as a chairman.
At age 18, Andy came to know Jesus Christ in 1982. He was later called into full-time ministry at age 19. Andy had the privilege to serve as part of the pastoral staff at Cathedral of Praise-Manila, (a mega-church with 8,000 members) from 1985-1989. From 1989-2005, he planted and pastored several churches under People Missionary Church and later served as the Head Minister of this organization. Andy also worked as a part-time School Chaplain and Guidance Counselor in a private Christian school. He also served as a board member and educator at Southern Baptist School of Theology-Manila.
Andy earned his Diploma in Biblical Studies from Cathedral of Praise Bible College. He has also earned a Bachelor Degree in Theology, and post-graduate degrees in Master in Practical Theology and Master in Divinity from Southern Baptist School of Theology. He also received his Immigration Consultant Diploma from Herzing College Toronto in 2012.
Andy is married to Rowena and they are blessed with three children: Tim, Aya, and Angeli.
