This November, we will be celebrating 21 years of God's faithfulness to our local church, Living Word Ministries.
Traditionally, when someone turns 21, he or she is now considered an adult; thus, being looked up to and treated as a mature person. Adult life comes with an enlarged freedom, enlarged responsibilities, enlarged accountabilities and also with enlarged expectations from family, friends and the community he or she is a part of.
As our local church turns 21, it’s about time for us to ENLARGE our “TENT” or “TERRITORIES” as the Word of God through the prophet Isaiah said, “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes (Isaiah 54:2).
As we reflect on God’s faithfulness and of the many good things He has given us, we now need to pursue all the more the visions God has placed into our hearts in a more responsible and mature ways.
In becoming an adult, there are lot of undoing we need to start working on… primarily on ourselves. As Apostle Paul once wrote in 1 Corinthians 13:11, “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.” Thus, we must grow out of our childish talk, childish thinking, and childish reasoning and begin to desire for solid food as the writer of Hebrews said, “But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil (Hebrews 5:14).
As we celebrate our 21st Anniversary, more than ever, let us continue to join hands in living and acting out more responsibly as we begin to ENLARGE the scope of ministries God has entrusted us.
